Objectives

Objectives and networking opportunities are designed to improve the future employment chances of young researchers.

The biology of nutrition in humans and farm animals is coming more into the public focus in terms of animal health and welfare that are intrinsically tied to consumer safety. Many nutritional factors affect the intestinal microbiota, the gut mucosa, the integrity and function of the gut associated lymphatic system, the host response and finally the balance between health and disease. However, there is still a need for answers to arising and current questions.

The main goals of the Integrated Research Training Group ‚Biology of Nutrition’ are to:

  1. promote and encourage young researchers (PhD candidates) to conduct their research in an excellent scientific environment,
  2. motivate and boost young researchers to independently rise and answer questions in the multi-disciplinary environment of the collaborative research group,
  3. ensure the transfer of knowledge and communicative skills to improve the future employment chances of young researchers.
